Certified Application Counselor
About The Position
Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Certified Application Counselor to join our team in Spring Valley, NY. The Outreach & Enrollment Specialist will be trained as a Certified Application Counselor (CAC) and will provide information to individuals and families about the health insurance options available through the New York State Health Insurance Marketplace including, Qualified Health Plans and free or lost-cost coverage from Medicaid, Child Health Plus or the Essential Plan. The Outreach & Enrollment Specialist will conduct outreach, education and enrollment assistance in a manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to the needs of the community being served.
Requirements
- Associate's degree required
- 2 years of customer service and engagement experience
Responsibilities
- Complete all required New York State Certified Application Counselor training and pass certification exams.
- Comply with all continuing education and recertification requirements.
- Provide courteous, professional and confidential assistance too all consumers seeking healthcare access and information.
- Serve as a resource for consumers seeking to understand the Marketplace, health insurance and healthcare options.
- Builds relationships with external partners.
- Conduct marketing and outreach within local communities about health insurance options through the Health Insurance Marketplace as well as promote the availability of healthcare service.
- Assess eligibility and provide enrollment assistance for uninsured children and adults to apply for a Qualified Health Plan, The Essential Plan, Medicaid and Child Health Plus as applicable.
- Achieves performance expectations set by management for visit volume at health center locations.
- Comply with SRH policy on confidential information in addition to any applicable laws governing the confidentiality of enrollee financial information, social security numbers, personally identifiable information and health information, including Medicaid data.
