About The Position
As a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor at Kanvwotiyi, CIHA’s residential treatment program, you will join a team committed to a care model founded in compassion, cultural understanding, and a shared commitment to providing exceptional service. The Kanvwotiyi team provides residential substance use treatment, counseling and recovery support to individuals receiving care at our residential treatment program near Robbinsville, NC. In this role, you will work alongside Clinical Supervisor, licensed professionals and other members of the residential treatment team to help deliver coordinated, high-quality care in an environment where relationships are at the forefront of everything we do. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates well, pays attention to detail and contributes positively to a team. At CIHA, every position plays a part in the patient experience. Whether providing direct care, supporting daily operations, or helping patients navigate services, your work helps ensure people feel welcomed, respected and cared for.

Responsibilities
- Conduct screenings and assessments
- Collaborate with residents to develop personalized treatment plans
- Provide individual, group and family counseling
- Educate residents and families about substance use and recovery
- Support relapse prevention
- Provide crisis intervention
- Coordinate referrals and aftercare with other providers and community resources
- Timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- Maintain confidentiality, professional ethics and culturally respectful care
