Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor/ Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our CST team. In this role, you will provide essential counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. You’ll conduct client assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and use therapeutic interventions to guide clients on their path to recovery. Wesley Behavioral Health Services LLC is a behavioral health provider in North Carolina dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals and families in our communities. Our mission is to provide therapeutic mental health and addiction services to individuals exhibiting severe or persistent high-risk behaviors and/or those diagnosed with mental health disorders. Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Valid licensure or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., CADC, LCAS)
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities, including CBT and trauma-informed care
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention and medical records documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations
Responsibilities
- Facilitate individual counseling sessions focused on recovery and behavioral change
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Support clients in building coping skills and relapse prevention strategies
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, therapists, and social workers
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records in accordance with HIPAA and clinical standards
- Provide crisis intervention and support when needed
- Attend weekly CST meetings
- Must be willing to travel between clients
