About The Position

The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADAC) support Hope Center Outpatient Services’ mission statement is to lead addicts and their families to become fully devoted followers of Christ. This position my require 2nd shift hours. The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADAC) will provide substance use disorder counseling services to individuals, families, and groups. Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and referrals. Deliver counseling service in accordance with state and ethical standards. The Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to apply and teach state of the art as well as biblical addictions treatment. This position will work under appropriate clinical supervision when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certified from North Carolina Addiction Specialists Professional Practice Board (NCASPPB)
• Ability to model/teach the 12 Steps of Celebrate Recovery
• Valid North Carolina License preferred with a safe driving record.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Ability to quickly learn and use various clinical software.
• Ability to problem-solve, analyze, and interpret information.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and make crucial decisions while also knowing when consultation is needed.
• Ability to be open and culturally sensitive to a wide variety of patients’ experiences.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively speak, read and write in English.
• Ability to interact with patients and co-workers in a collaborative and courteous manner while providing guidance, instruction, and/or training.
• Reacts productively to change.
• Ability to deescalate a person in crisis in a calm and supportive manner; work calmly and professionally in stressful situations and ally with people in crisis.
• Ability to present to hostile or disinterested groups.
• Have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and must live a life according to Biblical standards.
• Agree with the Statement of Faith, Lifestyle Statement, and overall vision of Hope Center Ministries.
• Successfully pass drug and alcohol tests, background screening and social media, personal and professional reference checks.
• Meet any additional requirements as may be determined by Hope Center Ministries.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• One (1) year experience in addiction treatment preferred with a biblical background
• CPRS certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates pertinent information regarding individual patients.
• Communicates urgent patient, and emergency information to the Supervisor, as well as to Coordinator and/or National Director.
• Provides Coverage for absences, notifying the CCS and/or National Director of any serious or recurring issues.
• Orients and trains new staff regarding department policies and procedures, as well as the use of relevant technology, including the electronic patient record.
