About The Position

Clarvida is seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor to join their team in Georgia. This role involves providing services to adult clients in the community, focusing on substance abuse and mental health issues. The counselor will conduct assessments, provide individual and group counseling, intervention techniques, and crisis assessments. They will also connect clients with community resources like AA. The position is part of the ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) team, an evidence-based, person-centered, recovery-oriented, and intensive community-based service for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. The ACT team is multidisciplinary and provides rehabilitative, intensive, integrated, and stage-specific community-based interventions, emphasizing social inclusiveness and assisting individuals in achieving a stable lifestyle. Services are tailored to individual preferences and goals within an Individualized Recovery Plan.

Requirements

CAC-I, CAC-II, GCADC-I, CADC, CADC-T or CCIT
Communicate effectively in writing and orally
Have an understanding of and sensitivity to serving the culturally diverse and dual diagnosed mental health population
Valid Georgia Driver’s License, clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Clean Criminal Back Ground Check (no conviction or credible evidence of abuse, neglect, or sexual exploitation)

Responsibilities

Provide services to adult clients in the community focusing on aspects of substance abuse and other mental health issues.
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of client strengths, substance abuse, mental health treatment needs, and biopsychosocial histories.
Meet with clients regularly to provide individual and group SA counseling, intervention techniques, and crisis assessments.
Link clients to community resources such as AA as needed.
