About The Position

The Education and Credentialing department at the American Public Works Association (APWA) is seeking an experienced Certification Manager to join the team. This role will manage the association’s professional certificate programs and stackable credential offerings. This position manages APWA's credentialing programs, including professional certifications and stackable credentials, ensuring the quality, integrity, visibility, and ongoing relevance of APWA's credentialing offerings. The position is responsible for program development, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth initiatives that expand participation, strengthen industry recognition, and support the evolving needs of the public works profession.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
4 years of experience in certification or credentialing program management
Excellent technology and communication skills
Comfortable writing and presenting
Customer/member service oriented
Ability to effectively work with volunteers, vendors, and staff

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of credentialing best practices
Knowledge of NCCA standards
Association experience
