About The Position

The Certification and Conformance Specialist will be responsible for the activities associated with the certification of Hearing and Protective Communication Personal Protective Equipment within the 3M Personal Safety Division (PSD). This role involves working as part of a global international team to identify regulatory product certification requirements, prepare and submit regulatory documentation, and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure product conformance and commercialization. The position also includes executing operational efficiency projects and staying updated on relevant standards and regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Five (5) years of regulatory experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
English communication in speaking and writing

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in an occupational health and safety, scientific, electronics or engineering discipline.
Experience in electrical safety, intrinsic safety, RF
Knowledge of hearing protection standards
Experience with PPE in a regulatory or related role in a private, public, government or military environment
Working experience in multinational companies
Strong interpersonal skills and able to build internal and external networks and communicate effectively
Project management experience
Self-starter who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment, with an appropriate sense of urgency

Responsibilities

Identifying the regulatory product certification requirements for hearing protection and protective communications products.
Preparing, maintaining and submitting regulatory documentation for product certification schemes applicable to PSD’s product portfolio in division and corporate systems.
Actively working with appropriate test labs, notified bodies, and agencies to submit products for certification, accelerate the registration process, and arrange manufacturing site audits as required to ensure conformance of products.
Collaborating with business portfolio leader(s), application engineers, quality, manufacturing and other cross functional roles to provide regulatory/compliance input into PSD new product projects.
Execution of the regulatory plan to enable product commercialization.
Engaging with regulatory authorities, notified bodies, or agencies with any post-market follow-up activities or issues.
Identify and execute operational efficiency projects.
Performing routine regulatory tasks for new and existing products.
Keeping abreast of changes in all applicable standards and regulations/directives.
Complying with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties.
Contributing to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
