About The Position
Founded in 1940, Dignity Health - Marian Regional Medical Center is a 191-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Santa Maria, California. One California As our Phlebotomist IV, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.
Requirements
- Must have a valid and current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate.
- Must complete required continuing education requirements to maintain State CPT I certification.
- Three or more years of full-time laboratory experience.
- Rigid accuracy in the identification of patient names and numbers.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of standard laboratory terminology is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols.
- Follow verbal and written instructions exactly.
- Demonstrate and promote teamwork.
- Work in a calm and conscientious manner under high volume and STAT conditions.
- Utilize basic communication skills and the ability to be caring and personable with patients.
- Perform phlebotomy successfully using established procedures on patients of all ages.
- Demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction.
