About The Position

The incumbent will work under the direction of the Director of the Master in Public Health Program Management and act as the Assistant to the Director responsible for performing all project management, writing, report preparation and administrative duties related to the MPH Program's re-accreditation process. This includes developing and managing timelines, preparing and submitting documentation, monitoring progress, and facilitating communication for the re-accreditation and self-study process. Additionally, the role involves the preparation of a 10-year Strategic Planning document as part of the re-accreditation planning process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a health related field.
  • Three (3) of full-time project management or quality improvement project experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in public health or related fields.
  • Experience with performance metrics, audits or other relevant accreditation.
  • Experience in healthcare or higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in accreditation training sessions, workshops and retreats, including regional and national meetings as directed.
  • Become conversant in all criteria and documentation necessary to facilitate reaccreditation process.
  • Develop and set time-line necessary to ensure timely completion and submission of all documentation required for self study and re-accreditation process.
  • In collaboration with the Management, prepare and submit all required documentation for self study, site visits and related to accreditation in accordance with time-line.
  • Monitor progress of all documents, troubleshooting any issues that arise that impact projected timeline.
  • Assess and assimilate all documents according to CEPH criteria.
  • Assist with development of data for self study and accreditation review.
  • Search and organize internal and external data for reports.
  • Collect, synthesize and organize all data for self study.
  • Compose reports, draft letters, and oversee related distribution.
  • Prepare all materials and documentation for pre-site visit and actual CEPH site visit.
  • Critically review (for quality, completeness, organization, and overall presentation) all data and program documents related to the self-study, identify possible deficiencies.
  • Describe deficiencies and express and contribute to solutions.
  • Summarize and deliver status reports to Director according to timeline for major project task milestones.
  • Write draft for self study.
  • Schedule all meetings related to re-accreditation preparation, including preparing meeting agendas in conjunction with MPH management or his/her designee.
  • Attend all meetings related to re-accreditation, including faculty and staff meetings.
  • Meet with key faculty, committee Chairs and attend various committee meetings including Curriculum, Admissions, and Ad Hoc committees as needed.
  • Facilitate communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keep working groups on task.
  • Prepare a 10-year Strategic Planning document under the supervision of the Director.
  • Attend all meetings related to the development of a 10-year strategic plan for the MPH, including PPH faculty/staff retreat(s), meetings with the management, various committee meetings including Curriculum, Admissions, Working Groups (Strategic Planning), and other Ad Hoc committees related to the Strategic Plan.
  • Prepare agendas in collaboration with the Director, and prepare minutes.
  • Prepare a Strategic Plan document, obtain feedback from faculty and staff, revise and finalize the Strategic Plan document in collaboration with the Director.
  • Prepare a full report, an Executive Summary, and a Power Point presentation version of the PPH Strategic Plan.
  • Help translate the mission, goals, and objectives into operational and organizational strategy and recommendations.
  • Critically review the Strategic Plan documents of the 5 HSC Schools, Stony Brook Medicine and the University, identify opportunities for collaboration related to the mission, goals, and objectives of PPH.
  • Meet with and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders as needed to prepare the strategic planning documents.
  • Collaborate with the management to develop a monitoring and evaluation plan to assess progress toward achieving the goals and objectives set forth in the Strategic Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned
