The Century Piper is responsible for mounting major components, installing interconnecting piping, soldering, and pressure testing commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. This role ensures all assemblies meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements while supporting efficient production operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow directions accurately.
  • Proficient communication and listening skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills for precise measurements.
  • Capability to operate equipment effectively.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of material to accurately assemble units and install piping systems.
  • Install, mount, and connect components and piping systems according to specifications, ensuring proper unit layout, accessibility, and serviceability.
  • Perform soldering and pressure testing to verify system integrity and ensure all connections meet quality and performance standards.
  • Inspect and verify work to ensure compliance with quality requirements, including confirming proper pressure levels and system functionality.
  • Identify and gather all required tools, equipment, and materials necessary to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Maneuver in and around equipment, including working in confined or awkward positions, to accurately position and install components.
  • Follow manufacturing instructions and complete assigned work independently with minimal supervision while meeting production timelines.
  • Accurately record time and labor in the time and attendance system to ensure proper job costing and payroll accuracy.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Support team operations by collaborating with coworkers and assisting with related tasks as needed to meet production goals.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain reliable attendance, arrive on time, and work overtime as required to support production demands.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
