Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with engineering along with lab leadership to design, develop, and qualify Centrifugal compression technology. We are seeking a lead technician to contribute to our overall growth and continued innovation in our Centrifugal HVACR labs.

Requirements

Associate degree or Certificate in technical discipline and three (3+) years relevant experience
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex projects into actionable tasks, create realistic timelines, and execute tasks
Ability to effectively collaborate with other lab groups and product engineering
Proven computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Exceptional communication (written & verbal) skills
Experience in developing testing procedures, training documents, and creating logs of critical lab operational records
Legal Authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Industrial Operations, or another engineering/manufacturing-related degree and (7+) years of experience
Experience in developing testing procedures, training documents, and creating logs of critical lab operational records.
Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 compliance requirements for laboratory operations and experience in preparing laboratory for annual ISO/IEC 17025, UL and ANAB audits
In-depth understanding of performance test lab metrics and KPIs
Leadership experience with direct reports
Experience in quality; ASQ Certification preferred
Basic/intermediate level of statistics, physics, and math
Excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities

Assign project tasks to Centrifugal lab technicians to coordinate lean workflow and execution of business priorities/projects
Communicate daily schedule, concerns, and updates through daily / weekly stand-up meetings
Engage with technicians and management to create a safe and clean work environment using 5S+1 techniques and current safety procedures
Provide training and onboarding of new hires
Provide performance coaching/mentoring to technicians
Be proficient in system performance, development testing, and assembly compressor builds.
Support preventative maintenance and calibration plans to help ensure an effective & safe working environment
Support hands-on project work as needed
