Under the direction of the Patient Financial Services Director, with direct reporting to the Assistant Manager Patient Accounts and Patient Access Supervisor, this position is responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient appointments across multiple hospital departments. This role serves as a primary point of contact for patients, physician offices, and clinical staff, ensuring appointments are scheduled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with physician orders, insurance requirements, and hospital policies. The Centralized Scheduler provides exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and supporting the organization's commitment to quality patient care. Further, this position is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties to include gathering and documenting patient demographic, financial and health information. Information gathered must be accurate and complete to include obtaining signatures, performing insurance verification procedures, obtaining insurance authorizations, collection of co-pays and deductibles, and other associated tasks necessary to accurately and efficiently complete the patient registration process. This position must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner. The individual must be organized and be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy.
