About The Position

The Centralized Scheduling Coordinator plays a key role within the Centralized Scheduling Office, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage across multiple clinical locations within Singing River Health System. This position requires strong coordination, critical thinking, and real-time-decision-making skills to effectively address staffing gaps across clinical departments. The Centralized Scheduling Coordinator will leverage multiple complex data sources and workforce management tools to optimize staffing assignments, ensuring the right coverage is in place to support safe, high quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business, data management, healthcare or related field required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare required.
  • Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
  • Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities.
  • Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.
  • Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
  • Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one year's experience in staffing/scheduling software preferred.
  • Clinical background (e.g. RN, LPN, RT) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring appropriate staffing coverage across multiple clinical locations within Singing River Health System.
  • Addressing staffing gaps across clinical departments.
  • Leveraging multiple complex data sources and workforce management tools to optimize staffing assignments.
  • Ensuring the right coverage is in place to support safe, high quality patient care.
  • Managing competing priorities in a high-demand environment.
  • May require some holiday and/or weekend support when applicable.
