The Centralized Scheduler is responsible for responding to outpatient diagnostic orders from physicians for hospital departments; interpret physician request for diagnostic test and schedule single to multiple tests according to required patient care protocols. This position requires the ability to determine medical necessity validation and handle medical information along with transpiring medical orders into the health information system. The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
