About The Position

The Centralized Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting the sourcing and procurement operational needs of the enterprise. This individual will act as a primary point of contact for our people managers and suppliers to support the Vendor Management System (VMS). Procurement is a strategic service to the business. In this role, you will support the end-to-end process (onboarding through offboarding) of contingent resources. You will run vendor performance reports, identify trends and make recommendations on ways to optimize the preferred vendor program. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, leadership, and stakeholders within the US as well as globally. This is a hybrid role in the office 2-3 days per week, based out of Gallagher’s global headquarters in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 3 years related experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree and/or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Procurement Operations or related Sourcing function preferred
  • Excels at communication and organizational skills including relationship management
  • Experience in Vendor Management Systems
  • Ability to multi-task and strategize priorities based on constant evolving needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Vendor Management administration including quality control checks on contingent resource attributes aligned to contractual agreements
  • Evaluating vendor and internal management performance and adherence to preferred vendor program and leverage VMS reports to summarize findings and recommendations
  • Work with cross divisional teams as it relates to troubleshooting VMS issues and making recommendations to optimize the VMS workflow
  • Monitor the approval queue’s associated to the Procurement team and coordinate with team members to resolve any workflow issues
  • Work with and communicate with suppliers to make sure that proper feedback, projections, and critical communications are being relayed in a timely manner
  • Maintain and deliver scheduled reports, maintaining integrations with the third party vendor and supporting maintenance tasks
  • Perform audits of worker tenure, supplier rate adherence, timesheet approvals, background compliance etc. as necessary
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedure documentation related to the VMS
  • Provide first level end user support for people managers, suppliers, and workers
