About The Position

The Centralized Leasing Coordinator is the first point of contact for prospective residents across a portfolio of communities. This role manages incoming leasing inquiries, screens applicants, processes applications, schedules appointments, maintains waitlists, and supports site teams by centralizing leasing communication and lead management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer service–focused, and comfortable managing a high volume of inquiries while communicating professionally and maintaining compliance with Fair Housing and affordable housing requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong phone etiquette and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage high-volume communications.
  • Ability to learn and apply multiple property programs and requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple site teams.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday in the Columbus office; this is not a remote position.
  • Some travel is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email systems, and property management software.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in customer service, leasing, call center operations, or property management preferred.
  • Experience with affordable housing or LIHTC properties preferred.
  • Experience with property management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information about each community, including rental rates, unit types, income restrictions, utilities, amenities, and application requirements.
  • Explain affordable housing program requirements, including LIHTC, HUD, PBV, HOME, and other applicable program guidelines.
  • Schedule tours and appointments for on-site teams.
  • Maintain waitlists and track the applicant pipeline.
  • Monitor lead conversion activity and leasing traffic trends.
  • Qualify applicants according to property-specific guidelines.
  • Collect all required applicant documentation.
  • Coordinate communication among applicants, leasing staff, the credit committee, and the compliance team.
  • Ensure communication practices are consistent, professional, and compliant.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of applicant information.
  • Follow Fair Housing laws and company policies in all interactions.
