About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Central Supply Clerk/Scheduler to join our nursing home team. This essential role is responsible for maintaining the inventory of medical supplies and ensuring staff have the resources needed to provide quality resident care. The role also involves managing nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with PPD requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of experience in inventory management and healthcare staffing coordination preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting (long-term care or medical facility preferred).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A dedicated, compassionate mindset that prioritizes quality resident care.

  • Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ordering, receiving, and stocking of medical and non-medical supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and track supply usage to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff to identify supply needs and provide timely replenishment.
  • Verify all incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Organize supply rooms and ensure supplies are properly labeled and stored.
  • Maintain records of purchase orders, invoices, and supply documentation.
  • Follow infection control guidelines to ensure supplies are handled safely and effectively.
  • Assist in maintaining budget control by monitoring supply usage and reducing waste.
  • Manage Nursing Staff Schedules – Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules for nurses and CNAs.
  • Ensure Adequate Coverage – Work closely with the Director of Nursing to secure coverage for vacant shifts, open positions, vacations, and leave requests.
  • Daily Staffing Reports – Complete daily staffing sheets and track nursing hours to meet PPD (Per Patient Day) requirements while maintaining compliance logs.
  • Monitor and Verify Employee Attendance – Review and correct time clock punches, verify hours worked, and identify staffing trends.
  • Aid in daily tasks such as use of telephone, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery.
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' condition and status.
  • Conduct rounds to monitor hazards or incidents.
  • Assist in dining including escorting residents to the dining room, serving, and clean up.
