About The Position

Central Supply Clerk is responsible for managing the facility’s medical and general supply inventory. This role ensures that essential items are ordered, stocked, and distributed efficiently to support resident care and daily operations. The Central Supply Clerk receives, unpacks, and organizes incoming supplies and deliveries, maintains inventory levels throughout the facility, and distributes supplies to nursing units and departments in a timely manner. This role also assists with inventory counts and ordering supplies as needed, labels, stocks, and rotates inventory to keep everything organized, and works closely with all departments to ensure supply needs are met. Additionally, the Central Supply Clerk keeps the supply room clean, organized, and ready for action. The Central Supply Clerk will also order, receive, and stock central supply items such as briefs, gloves, gowns, and over-the-counter medications, maintain accurate inventory records and ensure supplies are organized and accessible, monitor usage patterns and communicate concerns about overuse or shortages to nursing leadership, identify and recommend new products or systems that improve efficiency and support staff needs, assist other departments with supply-related tasks as needed, maintain supply budget and track expenditures, and build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers. Understanding basic contract terms and using ordering software to manage purchases is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Great organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move supply boxes throughout the facility
  • Positive attitude and team-player mentality
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) preferred
  • Prior experience in inventory management or supply coordination in a healthcare setting is a plus
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ordering systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Regular lifting, pushing, or pulling of supply boxes and carts up to 40 lbs
  • Repetitive tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing inventory
  • Use of carts, ladders, and basic supply equipment
  • Ability to move throughout the facility to deliver supplies to various departments

  • Previous inventory, warehouse, or supply experience is a plus—but we're happy to train the right person!
