About The Position

As a Central Sterile Technician at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, you will help deliver safe, high-quality surgical care by ensuring instruments are thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. You will support patient safety and work with nurses and surgeons to help surgeries run smoothly. The hospital is a 417-bed acute care facility in west Miami-Dade County offering trauma, burn, surgical, women’s and children’s, behavioral health, and diagnostic services.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED graduate.
• Graduate of a Sterile Processing Technician school.
• Current Sterile Processing Technician certification, or agreement to obtain certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and supplies according to safety standards.
• Monitor sterilization cycles, document results, and promptly resolve issues.
• Prepare and organize instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Work with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient surgeries.
