Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Services experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterilization standards, infection prevention practices, and surgical instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminates, cleans, inspects, assembles, sterilizes, and distributes surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Operates sterilization equipment and monitors sterilization processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintains accurate sterilization and inventory records.
  • Inspects instruments for functionality and identifies items requiring repair or replacement.
  • Organizes and prepares instrument trays according to department standards.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels of sterile supplies and surgical instruments.
  • Assists surgical services staff by ensuring instruments and equipment are available when needed.
  • Always follows infection prevention guidelines and safety standards.
  • Participates in department education, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
