About The Position

East Liverpool City Hospital, a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an award-winning community hospital proudly serving residents of the tristate region since 1905. With 152 licensed beds and more than 500 employees, the hospital averages 31,000 Emergency Department visits annually. East Liverpool's medical staff is comprised of more than 160 physicians with an additional 21 resident physicians. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency services, general surgery, medical stabilization for substance abuse, behavioral health for adults over the age of 55, and remains the ONLY cardiac rehabilitation program in Columbiana County. The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate

Nice To Haves

• At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required in an acute care hospital setting
• Central Supply Certified certification

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment
• Inventory and restocking of supplies
• Computer data entry and patient charge card batching
• Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment
