About The Position

The Central Scheduler 1 is responsible for answering incoming calls for the Access Center in order to provide a variety of services through utilizing state-of-the-art telecommunications and computer information systems. Coordinates the scheduling, pre-registration and insurance eligibility for both hospital and physician practice services. Assists callers by explaining insurance eligibility status and plan benefits, assigns appropriate referral and authorization based on insurance requirements, and provides all relevant instructions for scheduled appointments. Relays requests and symptoms to clinical staff via appropriate communication tools to ensure the caller gets the care they need. Provides general caller transfers and registration for a variety of classes, programs and events, physician to physician communication, general public information for LLUH marketing lead initiatives, physician referral services and point of service collections. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in a customer service, sales environment, or clinical setting
  • Able to keyboard 25 wpm
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality
  • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g. Outlook, Epic, Jabber)
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Able to collaborate and accept direction
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone
