Requirements

• Able to accurately identify instruments
• Ability to operate Steam Sterilizers
• Ability to operate Washer Disinfector
• Accurately read and document Biological results.
• Properly clean patient care equipment
• Ability to accurately identify specialty instrumentation
• Ability to accurately process complex instrumentation
• High School Grad or Equiv
• 1+ position-related experience
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Preferred

Responsibilities

• Sterilizes instruments following established protocols.
• Participates in in-service education programs and training.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Assembles instrument trays accurately.
• Documents procedures and maintains thorough records.
• Ensures all equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
• Collaborates with team members to support hospital operations.
• Stocks patient care equipment efficiently.
• Handles specimens properly and ensures their correct disposition.
• Reviews and recommends changes to policies and procedures.
• Floats to other units as needed based on patient and census requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Returns sterile instruments to their proper location.
