Responsible for collecting, processing, and testing patient specimens for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This role involves performing routine waived, moderately, and high complex testing, including the collection, processing, and receiving of various specimens such as blood, urine, fecal, and body fluid for analysis in all departments of the clinical laboratory. The position requires evaluating and solving problems related to specimen collection and processing for all age ranges, preparing samples for testing, and sending them to reference laboratories. Additionally, the role includes maintaining laboratory equipment, stocking supplies, performing complex laboratory procedures, and recognizing/correcting deviations from expected results under indirect supervision per CLIA requirements. Analyzing quality control data, troubleshooting instrument maintenance and failures, and participating in training programs, comparison studies, and validation of new equipment are also key responsibilities. Ensuring proper quality control measures are in place is essential.
