About The Position

East West Hospitality is seeking a skilled Central Plant Technician to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of central utility plant systems serving our hospitality and residential properties in Snowmass Village. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of heating, cooling, domestic hot water, and supporting mechanical systems that are critical to guest comfort and property performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, experience with central plant operations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a luxury hospitality environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2–5 years of experience operating and maintaining central plant or commercial mechanical systems.
  • Experience with boilers, chillers, pumps, hydronic systems, and HVAC controls.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work in mechanical rooms and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including winter mountain environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant equipment including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and pump systems, heat exchangers, hydronic heating systems, domestic hot water systems, snowmelt systems, and building automation and control systems (BAS).
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor system performance and make operational adjustments to optimize energy usage and occupant comfort.
  • Respond to equipment alarms, system failures, and emergency situations.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair cooling and heating systems in residential properties.
  • Coordinate with department heads and other team members to efficiently return system functions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspections, and equipment records.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and East West Hospitality safety policies.
  • Maintain chemical treatment programs for boilers, chillers, and closed-loop systems.
  • Participate in emergency response and after-hours support when necessary.
  • Work closely with property engineering teams to support guest satisfaction.
  • Provide training to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain professional communication with residents, guests, vendors, and fellow team members.
