About The Position

To ensure efficient operation of our central plant and related equipment. To maintain the functionality and safety of UMMC’s critical infrastructure including, boilers, chillers and pumps.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Two (2) years of experience with operating and maintaining boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, utility systems, or industrial mechanical equipment.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training in stationary engineering.
• Strong knowledge of central plant equipment, including boilers, chillers and HVAC systems
• Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, including on-call and rotating shift schedules
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain central plant equipment, including boilers, chillers, pumps, and related systems.
• Monitor and adjust equipment settings to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on central plant equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and system failures.
• Perform necessary repairs or coordinate and collaborate with other facilities technicians on complex repairs.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment, and assist in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs, as well as detailed logs of central plant operations and maintenance activities.
• Implement energy-saving measures and strategies to reduce operational costs.
