About The Position

The Central Office Warehouse/Custodial Supervisor completes, fills and delivers orders requested by buildings and departments in a timely manner. Maintains an orderly warehouse and keeps the Central Office clean and orderly at all times. He/she also supervises district wide custodial staff including custodial training, coordinating summer cleaning schedules, staffing, approving leave requests, and cleaning procedures and supplies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate forklift.
  • Ability to operate truck.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Two years related warehouse work experience.
  • Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
  • Ability to implement and follow all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.
  • Must verify good health by passing a physical examination, which includes TB and drug test as required.
  • Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
  • Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential.

  • A valid Kansas CDL License is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate custodial staff to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
  • Complete custodial scheduling and maintain daily work schedules.
  • Order and check-in custodial supplies.
  • Assist custodial staff with their duties.
  • Schedule training sessions for custodial staff.
  • Maintain safe working conditions throughout the warehouse area.
  • Monitor security for entrances/exits to safeguard district property.
  • Unload delivery trucks.
  • Receive supplies and equipment; compare actual quantities with packing slip quantities; and record damage and variance.
  • Perform physical inventory of warehouse stock items.
  • Load district vehicles; deliver supplies and equipment to buildings and departments.
  • Pickup/deliver textbooks and other items designated for disposal.
  • Maintain warehouse and central office area to ensure good safety, fire safety, housekeeping practices, and cleanliness.
  • Identify items in short supply.
  • Communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district and community.
  • React to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned.
  • Exercise appropriate judgment and initiative to handle emergencies as they arise (e.g., spills, stopped up stools, broken glass).
  • Implement the wishes of the school administration to facilitate the smooth operations of the school program.
  • Maintain grounds around the Central Office to conform to district standards.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Identify and correct or report building maintenance needs such as replacement of light bulbs, ballast, light switches, electrical plugs, damaged ceiling tiles, and repair urinal/toilet flush valves.
  • Perform snow and ice removal on sidewalks, including walking roof for damage.
  • Operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
  • Ensure delivery vehicle, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.
  • Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisors immediately.
