About The Position

This role is responsible for managing inventory within a central fill pharmacy setting. Key duties include placing and reconciling inventory orders, maintaining accurate stock counts, assisting in process improvement, participating in audits, managing storage areas, rotating stock, handling expired products and recalls, and cross-training other personnel. The position may also require working as a pharmacy technician during production surges or inventory downtimes.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician License in the Central Fill home state.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.

Nice To Haves

  • A national Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Previous pharmacy inventory management experience in high volume retail setting.
  • Previous pharmacy technician experience within a retail setting.
  • Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Prefers to work in a closed-door environment (no adjudication, customer interaction, phone work.)
  • Previous supply chain or inventory control experience.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Place inventory orders with pharmaceutical wholesalers, 3rd Party suppliers, and follow up on shipments and deliveries, if requested.
  • Receive, reconcile, and document all such shipments, communicating with the vendor as needed, as well as inter-store transfers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities for pharmaceuticals, production line supplies, office supplies, etc.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new processes for improving efficiency and reducing costs within the supply chain function.
  • Participate in periodic Inventory Audit preparations.
  • Manage storage areas for cleanliness and order, ensuring stock is prepared for the next day, considering ergonomics and efficiency.
  • Rotate stock and monitor/manage aging products, including DSCSA. Manage out of stock issues to minimize production delays while minimizing costs to carry.
  • Assist with appropriate reverse distribution, expired product handling, recalls and returns.
  • Assist in cross-training identified production personnel to help with inventory receiving and other inventory-specific projects.
  • Work within the licensure of a pharmacy technician if needed during production surges or inventory downtimes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.
