About The Position

The Design Specialist position is responsible for providing every customer and selling partner with astonishing customer service by designing and selling complete closet solutions and managing information flow. This position works primarily with Outside Sales, stores and other selling partners, focused on communication over Teams or through email. This is an hourly, non-exempt, onsite position. Please note you have to be located within a commutable distance to Elmhurst, IL. Requirements

  • 1-2 years customer service experience required
  • Possesses strong selling skills
  • Appreciates the concept of compulsion for closure
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Salesforce
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
  • Possesses focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred
  • Closet/cabinetry/space design or architecture related experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Translates closet assessment and idea information provided by selling partners to create designs of desired closet solutions
  • Transforms the paper sketches into 3-dimensional designs using proprietary design software
  • Actively researches product information and shares information on product uses and ways to effectively sell the product using solution-based selling
  • Maintains product knowledge of custom closet systems and related components
  • Supports selling partners by providing product training and information as well as in the moment coaching via Teams and email
  • Maintains awareness of current and upcoming sales promotions
  • Effectively manages time with multiple projects including Teams calls, designing spaces, responding to email and other online services
  • Communicates consistently with the team and seeks avenues to find information using available resources
  • Works collaboratively with the team to manage multiple calls, emails and inquiries
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule which may include evenings and weekends
  • Assists as needed in placing customer orders
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties
