The Control Room Operator is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of the automated sorter and conveyors, in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role involves verifying daily sort plan configurations, communicating hourly volume levels, and monitoring overall sorter induction status using the BeSSVIEW software system. The operator will perform virtual sorter maintenance by verifying and acknowledging faults on the BeOS sortation system, and maintain communication with automation technicians, coordinating downtimes for repairs with management. Ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of the sorter includes performing pre-sort checks, daily priming of conveyors, monitoring and controlling sorter operations, troubleshooting, and clearing errors. The operator will also monitor the camera system for jams and problem areas, communicate this information to managers and technicians, and receive communication from receivers and management regarding new trailer arrivals, documenting and tracking this information on a control log. The role requires completing all required paperwork, records, and documentation, and ensuring compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations, as well as maintaining housekeeping standards.
