The Center Store (Grocery) Manager is responsible for supporting the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals. This role involves building associate and customer relations, promoting a strong culture in support of the Food Lion Strategy, and maintaining solid communication with the management team and all associates. The manager will oversee the Grocery Department, including hiring, training, and developing associates, supervising performance, and providing ongoing coaching and performance appraisals. They will manage labor, coach associates to achieve productivity expectations, and provide leadership to foster a positive culture. A key aspect of the role is ensuring extraordinary customer service through effective scheduling and maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, easy, flexible, and friendly service. The manager will also control store expenses, utilize company tools for financial and operational management, and ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation standards are met. Responsibilities include proper merchandise handling, adherence to company policies, completion of training, and performing all other assigned duties.
