About The Position

The Recreation Specialist plans, coordinates, and supervises recreational and leisure-time programs that promote student engagement, character development, and personal and social growth. This position supports a safe and enriching environment by providing structured activities and appropriate supervision. Availability during evenings and weekends is required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • No experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Must possess a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification or obtain within 180 days of employment and maintain throughout employment.
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
  • EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS - MUST BE FLEXIBLE

Nice To Haves

  • Lifeguard Certification preferred.
