About The Position

Grifols is hiring a Center Medical Specialist for a plasma donation center. The position is open to registered nurses and licensed practical/vocational nurses, with salary based on licensure and experience. The specialist assesses donor suitability, supports donor safety and satisfaction, responds to injuries and adverse events, and assists with employee training and vaccination programs.

Requirements

• Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, in accordance with state requirements, as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
• Protect donor and staff confidentiality.
• Inform donors about potential hazards.
• Educate donors regarding general health and counsel them regarding unacceptable test results.
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
• Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
• Assist in employee training.
• Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
