About The Position

The Center Medical Specialist position is for individuals with a skill set/experience as an LPN/LVN in one of their plasma donation centers. The role involves performing physical examinations and establishing medical history to determine donor suitability, building rapport with donors for customer satisfaction, ensuring donor and staff confidentiality, and making donors aware of potential hazards. Responsibilities also include providing donor education on general health, counseling on unacceptable test results, evaluating and managing donor injuries and adverse events, performing evaluations of illness or medication history for continued donor suitability, assisting in employee training, and administering the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.

Requirements

  • Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocation Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
  • Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
  • Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
  • Provide donor education regarding general health and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results
  • Evaluate & manage donor injuries and adverse events
  • Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
  • Assist in employee training
  • Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program
