About The Position

Grifols is seeking an EMT, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a Center Medical Specialist role at a plasma donation center. The specialist determines donor suitability through physical examinations and medical-history reviews, supports donor well-being and satisfaction, and helps maintain a safe, confidential donation environment. The role also includes evaluating donor injuries and adverse events, assisting with employee training, and administering the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program. Salary is based on licensure and experience. A possible $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered for candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish. The position is based at a plasma center in Houston, Texas.

Requirements

Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as an Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
Make donors aware of potential hazards.
Educate donors regarding general health and counsel them about unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
Assist in employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
