Requirements

  • At least 2 years of management experience overseeing a team of 10+ employees.
  • Hands-on animal care experience.
  • Deep understanding of animal behavior, health, and welfare practices.
  • Proactive, organized, and adaptable mindset.
  • Stellar communication skills.
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and lead.
  • Financial management expertise, including payroll, budgets, and expense control.
  • Ability to lift large dogs.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Business Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 10+ animal care professionals.
  • Oversee daily care routines including feeding, medicating, grooming, exercise, and playtime.
  • Maintain meticulous records of each pet’s health and behavior.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure the facility meets or exceeds standards.
  • Handle emergencies in collaboration with the District Manager.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead the team in a positive work culture.
  • Serve as a liaison between frontline team members and headquarters staff.
  • Create schedules that balance pet care excellence with budget efficiency.
  • Deliver exceptional client service and build lasting client relationships.
  • Encourage feedback and champion ways to elevate the client experience.
  • Manage payroll, budgets, and financial reporting in collaboration with the District Manager and administrative support.
  • Manage inventory and coordinate purchasing.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on community outreach and partnerships.
  • Solve problems and adapt to challenges in a fast-paced environment.
