About The Position

The Head Start Center Manager ensures that the mission and vision of the Central Kentucky Head Start early childhood education program and related services are communicated and translated into daily operations in the Centers. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating various processes, ensuring quality service delivery, and fostering positive relationships within the community and with parents.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience working in a supervisory role.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Possess proficient knowledge of and ability to use communication tools (i.e. telephone system, email, fax, etc.)
  • Ability to work well with individuals of all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to meet physical demands.
  • Reliable transportation (required)
  • Background check/drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and evaluates center staff in coordination with Content Managers.
  • Possesses and applies knowledge of current Head Start Performance Standards and agency Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinates and monitors childcare licensing and quality assurance accreditation processes.
  • Coordinates and monitors all service delivery areas and provides follow-up.
  • Ensures user rights are assigned for agency systems as appropriate.
  • Collects, analyzes, organizes, and reports accurate information.
  • Demonstrates and promotes positive parent-staff partnerships.
  • Ensures a positive and productive work environment is maintained.
  • Ensures quality services are provided by knowledgeable, prepared staff.
  • Promotes community awareness of positive outcomes of the early childhood education program.
  • Ensures effective communication and marketing through a variety of media opportunities.
  • Establishes collaborations and fosters a positive image through interaction with community stakeholders and organizations.
  • Ensures that agency resources are maximized and utilized using sound financial practices and safeguarding of agency property.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and according to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Meets deadlines and performs daily routine tasks with minimal supervision.
  • All other duties as assigned.
