About The Position

Capital Area Head Start is seeking a full time Center Director to join our mission of making a difference in the lives of children, empowering parents, and strengthening families. The Center Director manages daily operations of an assigned center and ensures quality services for children and families. This position supervises and supports staff in the delivery of developmentally appropriate education, ensures the health and wellbeing of children, encourages family engagement, and collects data to monitor program operations.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in early childhood education
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in early childhood education or related field with at least 18 credits in early childhood education (Please include a copy of transcript if degree is in a related field)
Valid PA N/K teaching certification
Supervisory/leadership experience
Experience in home centered education, family services or parent education
Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice
Intermediate computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and learn web based systems
Valid driver’s license and access to properly insured vehicle, or public transportation
Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Criminal History, MVR, Child Abuse and FBI clearances
Passion, enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to make a difference

Nice To Haves

Experience in Head Start or Early Head Start is preferred
