About The Position

The primary function of this position is oversight of administrative functions within the outpatient program. This position works closely with the Program management staff and Administrator to ensure operational and systemic consistency within the contract. The Center Coordinator provides a large variety of data management and clerical tasks related to data gathering and reporting, admissions and discharges for community services. This position monitors timeliness of documentation, reports and other time-sensitive activities. Includes collaboration with department staff and outside agencies to process client referrals, schedule staff Team meetings, and assist in tracking admission and discharge process. Various computerized and non-computerized reports and tracking spreadsheets are prepared regularly. This position involves regular interaction with local and corporate personnel; clients; families; outside agencies and the public. Assistance with medical records, chart and billing auditing, and billing are done in collaboration with management responsible for those functions. Work is performed under general supervision, but most functions are performed independently. Accuracy and timeliness are essential as they may affect legal and economic liability to the facility.

Requirements

  • Must have attained the age of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years’ general secretarial experience in a medical or mental health setting required.
  • Familiarity with medical/psychiatric terminology.
  • Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with SED children/adolescents, other staff, physicians, families and the public.
  • Valid California Driver License and clear DMV printout.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Arts degree or completed college units equivalent or technical/vocational/secretarial school diploma preferred.
  • Medical records experience preferred.
