About The Position

Community Action Wayne/Medina (CAW/M) is seeking a caring, dependable, and team-oriented Center Aide to support classroom operations within its Head Start and Early Head Start programs at the Amazing Wonders Learning Center in Brunswick, Ohio. This role is crucial in creating a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency insurability requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and actively engage in classroom and outdoor activities with children.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and web-based systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months or more experience in early childhood education, childcare, preschool, or a related setting.
  • Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, flexible, and positive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and routines to support a structured, engaging learning environment.
  • Engage with children during play, learning activities, and transitions to encourage positive growth and development.
  • Support the implementation of classroom expectations and behavior guidance strategies.
  • Help foster a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported.
  • Assist with supervision to ensure children's safety and well-being throughout the day.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and center environment.
  • Assist with meal service and cleanup activities, including sanitizing tables, sweeping floors, disposing of trash, and storing supplies.
  • Support sanitation and maintenance efforts, including cleaning toys, restrooms, classroom surfaces, and common areas.
  • Replenish supplies, assist with laundry, and provide support during staff absences as needed.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are consistently followed.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and program regulations.
  • Assist with classroom records and documentation as directed.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support continuous quality improvement efforts and perform other duties as assigned.
