Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to perform physical labor, including walking, lifting, and operating equipment
• Strong attention to detail and respect for the cemetery environment
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and work independently or as part of a team
• A high school education or GED.
• Possess a valid Kansas Drivers’ License (CDL preferred) and meet the driving performance standards as determined by management.
• Minimum 12 months experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of cemeteries, parks, and/or grounds required.
• Knowledge of principles, procedures, and equipment involved in the construction, maintenance, cleaning or repair of parks, grounds, public roads, or other related projects.
• Ability to operate equipment such as backhoes (required for Cemetery Maintenance II position), riding and farm tractors with PTO implements, dump trucks, snowplows, salt spreader, mowers, hand and power tools, and vehicles in a manner consistent with safety principles.
• Ability to operate equipment with standard or automatic transmission.
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with associates and the general public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous groundskeeping or landscaping experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, trimming, and weed eating cemetery grounds
• Assisting with general groundskeeping and seasonal maintenance
• Operating landscaping tools and equipment safely
• Supporting the team in maintaining a neat, professional appearance throughout the property
