Cemetery Equipment Operator/Grounds Maintenance
About The Position
Performs a variety of skilled duties related to cemetery operations, including ground maintenance, equipment operation, burial preparation, and administrative support. Assists the public with cemetery-related services, maintains accurate records, coordinates burial information, and provides professional customer service to families, funeral homes, and community members. The role has different levels: Operator I performs entry-level duties in grounds maintenance, burial preparation, and general operations. Operator II performs working-level duties including grounds maintenance, equipment operation, burial preparation, irrigation, landscaping, and facility upkeep, assisting with coordinating daily activities. Operator III & IV perform journey-level duties in planning, coordination, maintenance, and operation of cemetery grounds and facilities, providing advanced support with equipment operation, burial services, and improvement projects, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Requirements
- Skilled duties related to cemetery operations
- Entry-level skilled duties related to the maintenance, care, and improvement of cemetery grounds, facilities, and equipment (Operator I)
- Working-level skilled duties related to cemetery operations, including grounds maintenance, equipment operation, burial preparation, irrigation maintenance, landscaping, and facility upkeep (Operator II)
- Journey-level skilled duties related to the planning, coordination, maintenance, and operation of cemetery grounds and facilities (Operator III & IV)
- Advanced support with equipment operation, burial services, improvement projects (Operator III & IV)
