About The Position

This is a Full-time position located at the ODVA Ardmore Cemetery. The Cemetery Admin Caretaker performs administrative functions, to include greeting visitors, answering phones, responding to requests and answering questions, preparing paperwork related to the interment process or preneed, ordering headstones, and checking in headstones. The incumbent must also perform Cemetery Representative functions which include meeting with next-of-kin and overseeing committal services and entering data to generate interment records. In addition, the Cemetery Admin Caretaker performs jobs requiring manual skills and physical strength. Performs a variety of tasks, such as operating small tractors, excavators, digging graves to the proper level; cutting and removing sod, tamping and leveling dirt using hand and power tools; digging and squaring graves using pneumatic equipment, picks and shovels; assisting in lifting and placing caskets on lowering devices; loading and unloading materials; aligning headstones; and cleaning service. Performs other related duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of the position and agency operations.

Requirements

  • Work involved in business administration or equivalent
  • Other related trades experience that includes the use of hand tools and/or power tools
  • Safe operation of related machinery and equipment used in cemetery caretaking practices
  • Sufficient proficiency in the English language to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Potential to perform the duties involved in administrative tasks
  • Software proficiency
