About The Position

Cement Masons in Local 400 are highly skilled tradespeople responsible for placing, finishing, and repairing concrete surfaces for a variety of construction projects. Members uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and union solidarity while working on residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of concrete properties, finishing techniques, and tools.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Commitment to safety and union principles.
• As a proud member of Local 400, you are expected to uphold union values, participate in training programs, and advocate for and maintain safe working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Place, level, and finish concrete for floors, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other structures.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment to smooth, shape, and texture concrete surfaces.
• Apply curing compounds and protective coatings to ensure durability and quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to meet project requirements.
• Repair and patch existing concrete structures as needed.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and union standards.
