About The Position

This position is responsible for various tasks within the cellar, including cleaning and sanitation of fermentation and brite tanks, performing lab analysis, managing yeast strains, and ensuring proper carbonation levels. The role also involves participating in project work, process improvements, and general cellar maintenance. Additionally, the technician will set up and perform beer transfers and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experienced with Excel and Word
  • Willingness to work flexible and extended hours
  • Ability to lift and 55 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Fermenter and Brite cleaning and sanitation with CIP
  • Plate heat exchanger cleaning and sanitation
  • Lab analysis including ATP testing, yeast cell counts, yeast viability, chemical titrations
  • Yeast management for ale, lager, and seasonal strains
  • Communicate status of process / projects to appropriate personnel
  • Perform filtrations
  • Ensure proper carbonation levels for packaging
  • Participate in relevant project work
  • Participate in relevant process improvements
  • Harvesting and pitching yeast through the yeast propagation plant
  • General cleaning of cellar (tank exteriors, floors, etc.)
  • Proactive involvement in other related duties in the cellar as assigned
  • Set up and perform transfers of beer from cellar to tanker trucks
  • Other tasks as assigned
