Requirements

  • Technical Capacity
  • Proficient in levels 1, 2, and 3
  • Must have good mechanical skills.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Knowledge/understanding of property descriptions, best practices and theory.

  • Must follow and understand written and unwritten NYAB policies and procedures, understand and completes all documentation required; be aware of safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the plant; be alert for and report all safety and quality concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all facets of work in the cell (basic disassembly, wash, rebuild, and testing of freight and locomotive valves, brake pistons and test devices.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools, operations of semi-automatic equipment, lapping, washes.
  • Instruct cell employees on proper and safe use of all tools and equipment.
  • Must oversee training for all new cell employees.
  • Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times and immediately address any and all safety issues.
  • Conduct standup meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel as needed to achieve those goals.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
  • Lead other employees in all major functions of the position.
