Requirements

Technical Capacity
Proficient in levels 1, 2, and 3
Must have good mechanical skills.
Must be able to multitask.
Knowledge/understanding of property descriptions, best practices and theory.
Communication Proficiency
Organization Skills
Time Management
Must follow and understand written and unwritten NYAB policies and procedures, understand and completes all documentation required; be aware of safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the plant; be alert for and report all safety and quality concerns.

Responsibilities

Understand all facets of work in the cell (basic disassembly, wash, rebuild, and testing of freight and locomotive valves, brake pistons and test devices.
Proper use of power and manual tools, operations of semi-automatic equipment, lapping, washes.
Instruct cell employees on proper and safe use of all tools and equipment.
Must oversee training for all new cell employees.
Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times and immediately address any and all safety issues.
Conduct standup meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel as needed to achieve those goals.
Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
Lead other employees in all major functions of the position.
