About The Position

AECOM is seeking an experienced CEI Senior Inspector to support transportation and infrastructure projects in Tallahassee, Florida. This role involves overseeing construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and regulations. The inspector will monitor quality, performance, and code requirements through field inspections and record maintenance. This position requires performing complex technical assignments in surveying, construction layout, and inspection, as well as conducting field tests. The Senior Inspector will coordinate and manage lower-level inspectors, work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator, and use experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals. They will be responsible for setting project deadlines, providing on-the-job training, and monitoring quality assurance progress. The role includes participating in punch lists, testing, commissioning, and providing input for documentation related to area and equipment turnovers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the work.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing construction activities to ensure work is performed in compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Performing field inspections and/or audit duties and maintains inspection records.
  • Ensuring all contract documents represented by working drawings and specifications are properly executed.
  • Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
  • Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors.
  • Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
  • Setting own project deadlines.
  • Provides on the job training to new employees.
  • Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
