About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a CEI Senior Bridge Inspector (CC2) for major long-term highway/bridge projects in the greater Orlando area. Be involved in projects with our Florida Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 7+ years of relevant construction inspection experience; two (2) of those years must be on CC2 Bridge projects.
  • Knowledge of road and bridge construction concepts, terminology, and principles.
  • Strong knowledge of construction inspection principles, practices, processes, methods, and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of construction codes, compliance practices, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter able to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to learn new techniques, multitask, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team to meet project objectives.
  • Analytical mindset and sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Effective English communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships with contractors, utilities, FDOT, and others.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and related tools.
  • Able to provide field input and feedback to support safe, efficient, accurate work per contract documents.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and WSP health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
  • Able to work project-specific schedules beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional project-related travel may be required.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and emergency response assignments as needed.
  • Valid Class E driver’s license
  • Must pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing lower-level inspectors.
  • Responsible for performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
  • Interpret plans and independently inspect roadway and bridge construction activities.
  • Verify construction complies with contract documents, plans, permits, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform materials testing per FDOT requirements and scope of services.
  • Use engineering tools, equipment, instruments, and computers for technical tasks and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain accurate records and enter Daily Work Reports into the client database.
  • Prepare documentation to support contractor payments.
  • Inspect Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control for safe setup, compliant materials, and corrective action needs.
  • Monitor environmental permit compliance.
  • Make ethical decisions and follow WSP’s Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as project needs require.
