About The Position

JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms. JMT's Virginia Beach office is seeking a Section Head to lead their CEI Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for the discipline at the local level. Compensation for this position is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
  • 10+ years’ experience in specialized discipline
  • Project management and business development experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with local VDOT and municipal clients
  • Project Controls experience
  • Professional Engineer License or equivalent, preferred
  • Supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
  • Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
  • Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
  • Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
  • Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
  • Establish resources staffing needs for the section
  • Interview and hire staff for the section
  • Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
