About The Position

CDM Smith's CEI team in Columbia is seeking a CEI Roadway and Bridge Transportation Engineer. This role involves assisting with construction inspection activities at various transportation infrastructure construction projects such as roadway, bridge, drainage, erosion & control, and maintenance and traffic field site locations. The engineer will maintain relationships with clients and contractors to ensure construction activities are on schedule and meeting contract requirements. They will also estimate manpower needs, schedule, and assign work to meet completion date deadlines set by the client, and assist with the coordination of the work for field inspection staff. Additionally, the role includes participating in new business development and maintaining existing client relationships, as well as assisting in developing and implementing new strategies to enhance CEI capabilities. The engineer will also keep abreast of new methods and developments affecting CDM Smith and recommend changes to current programs or implement new programs warranted by new developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0 years of experience.
  • An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
  • Basic Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Basic Knowledge of engineer principles of design.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
